Harsh chemicals

11/28/2014 1:08:00 PM
This cream burned my face, and not from the glycolic acid. It contains Diazolidinyl Urea, which is a very harsh ingredient and one that many people are allergic to or can't tolerate. Dermatologists routinely check for a reaction to Diazolidinyl Urea in skin allergy tests. Since this was a sample it did not have the ingredients listed on the product so I didn't know it contained Diazolidinyl Urea until I had a bad reaction. I've since thrown it out, sadly. I wish Revive would stick with more natural ingredients. I'm glad I did not purchase this product since it's pricey, and for me, harmful. Maybe others can tolerate these chemicals, but why risk it?

Pros: shea butter, glycolic acid

Cons: Harsh chemicals, rash, break outs

Worth the price

This moisturizer is actually worth the price. It sometimes feels a little greasy when I first put it on (I use it at night), but when I wake up in the morning my skin is soft and I've never had a breakout from using it. The other cool thing about this moisturizer is that it adapts well to being mixed with other products. If I feel like I need extra moisture, I add a few drops of Aesop's Fabulous Face Oil and if I feel like I need a little extra exfoliation, I add one squirt of Kate Somerville's Micro Glycolic Polisher (a tip a beauty blogger recounted from Kate herself!) Jessica M. at the Union Square location recommended this moisturizer to me and I'm so glad she did - I can't imagine using anything else before I go to sleep.

Pros: Doesn't break my skin out, moisturizes beautifully
